{"id":220,"date":"2015-04-05T17:53:18","date_gmt":"2015-04-05T17:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shakennotstirred.us\/?p=220"},"modified":"2015-04-05T17:53:18","modified_gmt":"2015-04-05T17:53:18","slug":"to-stem-or-not-to-stem-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/shakennotstirred.us\/?p=220","title":{"rendered":"To Stem or Not to Stem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anybody out there like this trend of Martini Stemware without the &#8216;Stem&#8217;?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve noticed a number of places serving my Martinis in glassware that is short, almost stubby, with a bulbous &#8216;foot&#8217;, and no noticeable &#8216;stem&#8217;.\u00a0 The bowl is still an inverted triangle shape, but that&#8217;s about all that remains of the traditional Martini stem we all &#8216;grew up&#8217; with.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure it doesn&#8217;t change the taste of the drink.\u00a0 And it may actually keep the drink colder longer &#8230; see my past posts about cold stems.\u00a0 Furthermore, with the lower center of mass it will make the glass less likely to tip over.\u00a0 Would that be a reason the bar is using them?\u00a0 Less breakage?<\/p>\n<p>But it just doesn&#8217;t seem &#8216;right&#8217;.\u00a0 Maybe I&#8217;m too much of a traditionalist, but I don&#8217;t think I like this trend.\u00a0 Any comments or thoughts?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Don&#8217;t forget to Subscribe to get immediate notifications of future posts&#8230;<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n&lt;&lt;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anybody out there like this trend of Martini Stemware without the &#8216;Stem&#8217;?
