\"RhumbLine\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Nestled in the back of the Ventura Harbor is the Rhumb Line restaurant.\u00a0 The ‘by line’ of the place is ‘The Sunset Restaurant’.\u00a0 It has great views of the Ventura Harbor, and yes, the Sunset.<\/p>\n

The restaurant has been around in some form for many years, but Rhumb Line has only been there three.\u00a0 This incarnation seems to be the best.<\/p>\n

The food is very good with a nice mix of seafood, of course, and traditional American fare.\u00a0 Ambiance is absolutely ‘clean’ nautical, which is perfectly appropriate for the location and great views of the harbor.\u00a0 The Service has been great; the team is very friendly and helpful.\u00a0\u00a0 There is also a grand piano in the entry with enough free space for a dance floor if the occasion calls for that.<\/p>\n

The Rhumb Line’s Martinis are pretty good.\u00a0 The glass was very nicely chilled, almost frozen.\u00a0 It was thoroughly shaken and perfectly dry.\u00a0\u00a0 I only have two issues with them.\u00a0 First they don’t use the classic Martini Stem with which I’m so enamored.\u00a0 And second, their selection of gin is average with the usual mainstream selections but nothing ‘special’.<\/p>\n

Having said that, I do like the Rhumb Line.\u00a0 Its ‘out of the way’ which I like, and has great views.\u00a0 If I’m in the area, I will certainly stop in.\u00a0 And will order a Martini too.\u00a0 The Rhumb Line gets one Martini Stem: \u00a0\u00a0 \"Martini<\/a><\/p>\n

For selection Rhumb Line gets a\u00a0 “B”.\u00a0 Their Gins include:
\nHendricks, Bombay , Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray, Tanqueray 10, Beefeater, Beefeater 24, and Nolet’s.<\/p>\n
